first_imgTom GravesThomas L Graves, of Wellington, died Friday, April 25, 2014 at Via Christi- St. Francis in Wichita at the age of 76.Tom was born the son of Oliver “Tod” and Norma Pearl (Arnold) Graves on Wednesday, January 12, 1938 in Ringwood, Oklahoma.On June 16, 1957, Tom and Kay Briley were united in marriage at the First Baptist Church in Wellington. Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage.He was a skilled Tool and Die Maker for Boeing Aircraft and retired after 20+ years of work. Tom also worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and Mobile Villa; however, he truly enjoyed his time spent with his horses. Tom had a love for them all his life. He will be loved and missed by his family.Survivors include his wife Kay Graves of Wellington, daughter, Samantha Cody and her husband Everett of Wellington, son, Todd Graves and his wife Kathy of Wellington, daughter, Caprice Ashby and her husband Scott of Rose Hill, grandchildren: Colt Cody and his wife Grace of Hutchinson, Calder Cody, John Thomas Graves, TeeJay Graves, Taima Cheyenne Graves all of Wellington, Porsha Purdy, Lincoln Purdy, Lexie Ashby and Jagger Ashby all of Rose Hill, sisters: Shirley Hock and her husband Calvin of Mulvane and Gail Dunlavy and her husband Lon of Burrton and a sister-in-law, Pat Graves of Wellington.A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014.Memorial services for Tom will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in the chapel of Day Funeral Home, 1030 Mission Road, Wellington.A memorial has been established in his loving memory with the Wellington Food Bank.
